Wishes
Sometimes it seems like
We’ll be ok
That our friendship
Will grow and not
Fade away
But then some evens turn
For the worse
And I’m sitting here thinking
“I can’t go on like this.”
So I start to act *** and
Get in your face
I become this angry mess
Just passing the days.
I wish we’d be ok
And stay the same way
But life is unforgiving
Making us change
Making us stray.
Maybe one day,
We’ll look back and see
That everything was worth is
For you and me.
Or maybe it will be too late
And we’ll reach the end
Alone, tired, angry.
I wish you could see
My point of view
Like I’ve always wanted to see your
Point of view
But I never will
Because that’s how life is.
I’ll continue in ignorance
As you will too
But, my friend,
I wish we were better people
I wish we were stronger for each other.
And maybe I expect to much
From you
I just wish you would
Treat me
The way I’ve always treated you
Caring, loving, kind.
