Moon light dance
As the sun takes its leave
Your twinkling children gather round
While you begin the dance of the night.
As your presence illuminate my front steps
You get ready to put on the show of a lifetime. Players
From all around gather as the Devil
Takes his stance in front of me reveling his devilish
Grin. Frozen in his trance with no power to leave
I become his new fixation, his new toy to play
With. He then gives his opening soliloquy to everyone around
As he draws nearer, taking long strides for steps
I have no place to go, only into the night
With him. AS he reaches me his midnight
Eyes catch mine, and we begin the dance of the devil
He leads, I follow. Each strides turn to steps and steps
To strides. The beauty of this keeps the audience form leaving
But draws more in. As I look around
I’ve notice how is children no longer play
But sit and stare as the trees plays
It wondrous tune of the midnight
Dance. Watching as the full round
Moon shines its light upon the devils
Face, what a sight to see oh but how I wish I could leave
The danger he brings to my very steps
Is nothing more than what’s to come. My feet mimic his steps
Ever so swiftly creating patterns that plays
With the whistling wind. Pushing my hair he wispers “don’t leave”
Deep into the dark abyss of this night
We come to the closing of this devilish
Sight. Looking up watching the world spin round
As his children leave, the world around
Seems so empty as the two of us take the lasts steps
“its time for me to part with you” the devil
Swiftly turns to say. ‘But don’t worry my love I’ll come back to play,
Just look outside your window on those dark and lonely nights”
As I came to realization to his departing me asking not to leave
Then the devil took my hand once more to spin me once round.
Taking his leave in his final bow stepping away from me
The pay has ended leaving me alone in the night
