Herstory: Remake of History
She was attacked for being black
Called shady for trying to be a lady
Wrong whenever she stood strong
Everyone said she was just a girl in a man’s world
But she kept her head up
She refused to believe she was no more than dust
Yes, she was abused in every possible way
But she still kept faith from day to day
She knew her potential and what she could become
Inspite of what all those around her had done
Everyone knew that her mother was a nobody
And they knew her father was no where in sight
Her life seemed to be a dark tunnel with no light
They didn’t see why she bothered to try
But in her heart she knew she could touch the sky
It didn’t matter how her family was right then
She looked toward who she was becoming
Not who she had been
She didn’t care what others thought
They didn’t know her story
She was able to stay strong by giving God not man the glory
Her life wasn’t easy
But God made it better
With Him by her side
She could survive all bad weather
God helped her to reach her goal
So now she goes around preaching and saving lost souls
