What My Mother Didn't Teach Me
I never learned from my mother
That honesty will always accomplish
More than lies
I never found out the truth about that
I never learned from my mother
That time heals even the deepest
Of all wounds
I never waited the time to figure that out
I never learned from my mother
That a hug can sometimes solve the most
Mind boggling problems
I never shared enough hugs to get that one
I never learned from my mother
That secrets can eat you up on the inside and letting them out
Feels so damn good
I never talked enough to know that
I never learned from my mother
That sticking with hard things is always
The best thing to do
I never stayed around long enough to realize that
I never learned from my mother
That hating isn't the only option and sometimes
Love can persist
I never felt loved as much as I should have
I never learned from my mother
That goodbyes should be very hard things
That can break your heart
I never had to feel pain when she walked out the door
I never learned from my mother
That mistakes teach you just as much
If not more
I never knew that I could have learned so much from her, while never learning a thing
