Same to Sunlight
sometimes I would wake up and think that I could hear your voice floating down the hallway from grandma's kitchen
your voice same to sunlight
but you were never there
blue disappointment would fill me
from time to time I dream a dream where were always hiding under the safety of your covers secretly sharing conversation and laughter
but then I stir and my consciousness brings with it reality and formidable tears
we talk sometimes
only over a thin telephone wire though
I yearn to embrace the body that possesses that voice
to look into the eyes of the woman that once carried me in her womb
when you embarked on your journey of solitude you left behind fragments of yourself with me
memories that turn into dreams
but dreams that will never come true
