A democratic state
A democratic state
Clinging onto my mothers hand as if it was the last thing I were to ever do.
Walking slowly, yet seemingly furiously toward the gates, my heart sank.
Book bag grabbing at my legs, jet-pack attached securely, ready for action.
But I wasn’t.
Scared, frightened, alone; in a place where so many gather to enjoy – not despise.
A prison. An institute. A place I didn’t want to be.
Yet forced by the society we call democratic, liberal, and free-willed.
Not if your 6 years old.
My first day at school.
