Beyond These Walls
I am in a field--
A beautiful meadow.
The daisies are whiter and
more dazzling than doves.
The blossoming pink and
Gold trees house birds that
chirp and tweet
away without a care,
seeming to forget the
world even exists.
The snow-capped mountains
glisten in the early
morning sunlight.
Then I wake up.
There are no daisies,
No trees, no birds.
The snow-capped mountains
no longer exist.
It's just me,
curled up underneath
a pile of blankets,
hiding from the terror
that awaits me
beyond these walls.
