Battling tears, must I cry?
Heaving sobs, my breathing
unwillingly saddened most of my life
carry me away from misery.

The cold air blows strong in the night
echoing voices in my head
seeming so close, but distant in time
my mind wanders the length of it's chain.

Wash my mind free of sorrow
dip my thoughts in lakes where hope swims
clear my head as you did the skies above
keep me grounded like the Earth below my feet.

Help me carefully pursue my dreams
find myself happiness in this life
train me to love
and allow myself to be loved in return.

Assist truth in finding me
defend me from lies to be told
behold my heart is yours, as am I
try not to break me.
