Wishes Are Lies
When I asked you want you wished for,
You said you didn't know.
I realized later on,
That you wanted to be by him.
When I asked you what you wished for,
You didn't hesitate to answer.
You wished we could stay friends forever,
when you wished for me to leave.
When I asked you want you wished for,
You said you didn't know.
I realized later on,
That you wanted to be by him.
When I asked you what you wished for,
You couldn't tell me.
So intead you told me a lie,
That tore us apart.
If I could have one wish,
I would wish for the impossible.
I would wish for your happiness,
But then I would be lying.

The first part of the poem is a little hard for me to understand. Is this a poem to a best friend who would rather be with a boyfriend? I like the clincher at the end where you share your wish and tie it in with "but then, I would be lying."

Would you like a side of epic with that fail?
