I miss my freedom
I miss the velvet feel of flowers
The warm smells that meet me every time I take a step
I miss the smooth crunchy grass
Running on it with tan bare feet
I miss the sunshine without the cold breeze
The comfort of the sun on your back as you read outside
I miss the dry paths
The sound of bike tires on challenging dirt trails
I miss the slowly melting rocky mountain ice cream
The cold delicious creamy feeling of it melting in my mouth
I miss the relaxing shade of a tree
The green vibrant leaves on top of diamond blue skies dotted with clouds
But most of all I miss the freedom
Freedom to ride
Freedom to run
Freedom to do whatever I want
That sweet delicious freedom of not having to worry about staying warm
That comforting feel of knowing that you can run without worrying about wetness
And when it does rain, you have the freedom to run out and spin dreamily in it’s welcomed and fresh coolness.
I want the freedom to live my life outdoors
I cannot stay a moment longer inside walls that are giving me artificial heat
The walls that trap me inside
They know it’s freeing outside so they force me to stay inside them
trapping me
stripping away my freedom
I want the freedom to enjoy the weather
I miss the sunshine without the cold breeze
I miss the slowly melting rocky mountain ice cream
I miss the dry paths
I miss the relaxing shade of a tree
I miss the smooth crunchy grass
and I miss the inviting feel of velvet flowers on my face
