sleep
It’s quick
Short,
Sad.
Life?
Death?
What will it be?
Your loved ones,
That little baby on the way
The long winning less battle.
It comes
It’s fast
3 months
you look down at your daughter crying over your upraising chest
a wet sparkle rolls down your cheek
you have to turn away it just too much.
You look down at your son
He’s in a hospital too
But its not death that has called him
It’s life
The baby
New life
They name her
They say she had your face
So they name her after you
A smile comes to your face
The first in months
You turn away, eased
It was short
It was quick
It was a silent death
No screaming
No pain
Eternal sleep
