Understand Me
Listen and be taciturn,
Open wide your heart to understand mine.
I am a human with thoughts.
You winnow me from your presents because you presume you have naught to gain,
So with cross'd arms you refrain.
You understand not,
Because you heed not.
Wilt thou take time,
To understand mine?
My head can think,
My mind can heed,
My voice can even speak.
But will you not listen?
You ramble on without end,
And but for a moment I listen.
But then comes my turn and you are not there to listen.
You sometimes act like you hear me,
But yet you don't really.
Because you offer up your perception,
And I know you were looking with blind eyes of disception.
And deaf ears,
So now mine are fill'd with doubt and tears.
