Where I'm From
A man asked ‘where do you call home?’
I said I’m from the front pew of St. Anthony’s Church,
A house of three boys and just one girl,
My mom and dad say “Boys leave your sister alone.”
I’m from a Peek-a-poo named Cocoa and his toys everywhere,
Plates of steaming chicken stir fry served over rice,
The smell of mom’s rice crispies walking in the door is unbearable.
I’m from a three time state champion wrestling brother,
And a 50 year old mother running marathons.
“Work out Lindsey! Lacrosse is coming up.”
I know it may not sound like much,
But it’s where I’m from.
