Separate Worlds
Sadly I stare through the contorted glass
Watching the other side
I see you faintly there
Through the months it's grown more opaque
Harder to see through
Resented ever more daily
I can make the outline of your face
Your eyes penetrate
The only clear part of you
They speak to me, your only voice
I listen for all it's worth
All but the lies come through
Until all that's left, your soul's only windows
I grasp for the comfort in them
I once found
Finally staring at a black wall
The connection's almost gone
In separate worlds now
