"the only thing to fear, is fear itself."- theodore roosevelt

A simple clown.
Her job is to make people around her feel important
To make them superior to her
She gives them happiness all day
Hand them balloons and paint their faces with joy
But when that clown gets home she just becomes an ordinary person
Quiet and scared
Her very being seems so fragile at times
When she’s alone she dreams about what life would be like,
if something had gone better

The monsters come out in the darkness
Out of her tender heart
And such a happy person goes to a place where only the devils sleep at night
Where only the unwilling can stay
Don’t wonder,
Don’t stay here
For the weak cant handle it
Don’t think hear, don’t look
Because you may be afraid,
Of what truly belongs in the broken

No person would have dared to think,
Thought to hear her unspoken visions
Because they never listen,
Never listen to the thoughts she has to say
To her words that are so plentiful with kindness
And when she finally breaks,
to a point of distinction
No one could accept she who is unhappy
For it is a flaw
One that everyone holds
The one that people die over inside

This clown so alone at heart
Desires love for her
To have someone to be there in the dark,
When she is crying herself asleep
She can only dream of fake fantasies
But everyone else only wants and never needs

So truly silent she
She fears of saying the reality
She doesn’t know what they would think
If they heard the very plans she holds to herself
Or what beauty lies inside her
For what would people think?
If they saw her minds eye
What she sees inside
Would they understand?

So me, like this clown
Wishes upon a life to be fulfilled
With happiness in every moment
To have everything lost back within her grasp
To make of what she has now
For people to cherish her for who she is

Myself a clown.
