Forever
He told me it would last forever
I cried
But kept them from the ground
Tears are only real, when someone else can see them
I begged him to save me
He shook his head
Handed me bottles of empty pills
Medicine only works, for those who believe it
I climbed in the car and shook
But did not scream
Drove cautiously by passing cars
People only see, what they are forced to confront
I climbed the stairs to my bedroom
But did not make it
Collapsed in bountiful sorrow
Happy endings are only real, until you close the book.
