Beyond My Grasp
Nauseous
Tears
Wells of feeling
Knowledge of truth
Just gone
With a haunting face
Endless guilt
Always the knowledge
Of the wrong place at the wrong time
A cliché
So selfish
That the tears only burn for my pain
You were there
Just lingering in my memory
You weren’t even sick
But now you’re gone
I don’t even know how
Or why
I remember
Your smile
Always warming my heart
All was good
Even now you’re smiling
Looking at the silver lining
But for me
There is none
