A Safe Haven
I drift in to my special, happy place.
I wander along the beaches of my mind.
As I wander, I wonder; at the power hidden by my eyes-
and skin-
and hair.
I let the grains of thought sift through my fingers.
I twich my feet in the waters of my dreams.
I watch the sun of my conciousness set on another busy day-
another full day-
another day of endless thinking.
I lay down and watch the stars of sleep drift over me.
They sparkle with the good things from my day.
They darken with the memories I want forgotten-
demolished-
burned into a dying ember.
I let myself forget the day.
I push my toes deeper into the sand of my safe haven.
I dive deeper into my dreams where I can drift away-
or sink-
or float in simple, beautiful peace.
I lose myself in thoughts of the people I call home.
I fall into their arms in a game of trust.
I know that with them I will never fall-
or be forgotten-
or lonely.
