Ignored
Ignored
Standing up
Tall along the
Dark trail
Hope to be noticed
By someone,
Walking by me
Tired of being
Stuck behind all
The others
But the one time
That I was seen
It hurt
The boy’s knife carving
Into my side
His lover’s eyes glowed
When he was finished like
She was happy her initials
Were now on me
They even rested
Under me for
A little while
During their picnic
If it weren’t for their
Carving I could have
Been happy
But now they don’t
Even come back
I’m left here all alone
During the fall to sit
Here and have my limbs
And leaves flow away
In the cold wind
Behind the rest of
Them as I rot and
And start to tilt more
And more to the side
I am ignored
