Without me
Sometimes I feel as if
the world would
fall apart without me.
Stress fills my life
eating away at my soul.
People only call when
they have a need of me.
And they have a need
of me quite a bit.
Spanish Club would
never be the same.
Student Council would
be bereft and chaotic.
Choir wouldn’t be
short a volunteer.
Mom would have to
find a new babysitter.
Pop would have to
hire a caretaker.
My friends would have
to find a new ride.
Sometimes I feel
as if the world would
fall apart without me.
Do I place too high an
importance on myself?
Perhaps I do.
