The Fear
“The Fear”
By Thomas Lytle
The years have gone by
Faster than we think
You have to say good-bye
While I sit back and blink
You can’t wait for that day to come
When you are free
When I can’t overcome
Watching you leave in glee
You say I’ll be fine
Without you here
But I can see the line
That is drawn with fear
To watch you go away
With no hesitation
Beats me up everyday
When I have no explanation
You see the pain
The cards have been dealt
Watch me bleed and shout in vain
The hurt you haven’t felt
Now watch the one
With your love so sincere
Wear his halo that shines like the sun
As he is killed by The Fear
