Dead Optimism

As his whisper
locks into my
heart. I wonder
is this right?
Should I let the
optimism take
over my heart
or let the
cynicism leak
slowly into
my heart.
And as my tears
lock onto my lips
I imagine what
it would have been
if I had listened
to the cynic.
