My Secret World
I was thirteen when I was first told I needed glasses.
I donned my first pair a week later
At first the world seem magnificent
So sterile and sharp
My love for my new defined, clear world soon faded
I was able to see the eyes that were once just blue blurry pools on my friend face
Were actually filled with lies
I was able to pin point all of my flaws down to the last hair
I was able to see others perfection
People wonder why I don’t wear my glasses
They think it’s because I’m influenced by society’s version of beauty
What they really don’t know
Is that I don’t wear my glasses
Because of the world it shows
I prefer to live in my blurry, perfect world
Then to live behind distorted lenses
