The Intoxicating Sun
The sky is pinkish-blue,
As a shimmering golden disk
Peeks its head out
Like a shy little girl…
Slowly it rises higher
And higher
Proudly showing its light to the world
Shy no more
Its rays shine down on the people
Inspiring them to go on
Making their hearts cheerful
Their spirits lifting
Intoxicating their souls
Their lips curving into a smile
Who can resist the charm of the sun?
When it beams down at the people
Like a mother
Caring for her children…
Soon it is time for the bright sun to leave
As it moves slowly to the west
Shrinking into an orange ball…
The sky is now an orangish-gray
As the glowing ball bids the people goodbye
“Don’t worry,” it seems to say
I will meet you again another day
