Down that Familiar Road Again
Were going backwards
Through the stages
We were friends
We fell in love
We became best friends and lovers
We fell apart
Love tore us apart
We loved each other so much it hurt
It still hurts
We became enemies
Couldn’t stand to be around each other
Remember that
And somewhere in the mix of that we went backwards
Back to the beginning
The stage where the taste of love is still new
When all you want is to be near each other
Just hearing his voice makes your heart melt
That familiar overwhelming sensation
Yup we went backwards and we never even noticed
