My God
Strength, love, hope?
What do these words mean?
What purpose do they have
in our lives?
Everyone is always saying that
there strong but are they really?
Are they strong enough to keep pushing
through the worst of times
to see what the next day brings?
Or are they just strong in lifting weights?
Do people just say
“I love you”
because they think it’s what
the other person wants to hear?
Or do they really mean it?
When people say have hope
do they mean they believe in God
and would do anything for him?
Or do they just say this?
I wish people would learn,
if they don’t already know,
that all these things we achieve through God.
He loves us unconditionally
and will forever.
He gives us strength when were upset
and want to give up.
He gives us hope through the bad days
and rough spots of our lives.
And he’s given me these all recently.
He’s healing my beaten heart.
Trying to mend it together for me.
He’s making it strong again
and giving me hope
that I might find another love someday.
And he’s filling me with love
that I’ve wasted on someone who never cared.
Thank you lord for everything your doing.
Thank you for taking care of me.
But most of all
thank you for not giving up on someone so used and wasted.
