Just Friends
When you’re with her,
It’s like she is walking
On feathery puffs of white.
You talk like you’re her Guardian Angel
Sent down from heaven.
When she looks into your eyes,
She sees the deep blue, crystal clear ocean
Kissing the horizon.
She is shaken from her dreamland
By a vivacious red-headed girl.
Annabel.
You kiss her gently on the head,
As if she were made out of glass.
Then you turned around to her,
The other girl,
And give her you toothy smile,
Say, “See ya ‘round,”
Run you hands through your curly blonde hair,
Then walk away
With your hand on Annabel’s defined waist,
Because they are,
Just Friends.
