More Than You See
Some people used to tell me
I would never be worth nothing
I was just a quiet, shy nerd
Who will forever be unheard
I didn't let them bring me down
Instead I turned it all around
I know I'm not a princess, nor a queen
But I'm not exactly what I seem.
You only see one side of me
This roughened diamond has its own gleam
I may not speak, I may be shy
But there's a sly look in my eyes
Trust me, I am more than you see
Take a closer look or you'll be deceived
The girl in the mirror, looking back at me
Is perfectly fine in her own company
She doesn't need anyone telling her how to manage her future
So they need to grow up, be more mature
Just leave me alone
I'll do just fine on my own
