Just A Memory
just a memory
sitting on my bed
looking at your stuff
touching your jacket
running my fingers down it
feeling the worn places
feeling my insides crumble
feeling the threat of tears
remembering you
picking up a picture of you and me
it's from out first date
in front your car
you had your arms around me
and was holding me like
if you let go i might slip away
to never be found again
you had a look in your eyes
mine to
we weren't looking at the camera
we were looking in to each others eyes
savoring that moment
putting the picture back down
i feel my heart break all over again
i feel the tears coming slowly
remembering you
i finger threw the papers
and find a piece of one
written in my hand
my phone number
the edges look worn
like he picked it up often
and looked at it
i put it back in the box
and i feel my self
shattering
the tears coming full on now
remembering you
i look though the rest of the stuff
and find a piece of paper
written in his hand
it's a song
that he wrote just for me
about how he wants to spend
the rest of his life with me
and only me
i can't read the words anymore
cause i'm full on sobbing now
and my heart has just broken open
cause you're gone
and i'm here
remembering you
