A Summer Night In Massachusettes
This moment was perfect
Perfect cool temperature, in late September
Watching the sunset off the splintery dock
The sun glowing softly from behind the foliaged trees
The great big lighthouse looks calm and inviting
Standing with elegance and prestige
Tall with purpose,
Father was in the quaint yellow house cooking super
Distracting his sorrowful thoughts
Anna trying to fish and I, patiently enjoying the scenery
Buck’s golden coat of fur was smooth and velvety
“Where’s all the Fish?” Anna asked impatiently
I simply shrugged my shoulders and threw
My head back to watch the breeze travel through
The Atlantic sky
Nothing was going to ruin this memory
Chaliced and calm
Seagulls flew silently above
and the sun slowly set
