Ready, Set, Go
On your marks.
I step on my blocks,
Resting my one foot on the ground,
The other grazing the space right below my ribs.
I stretch my legs behind me to get loose.
I line up my thumb and pointer finger,
Parallel to the starting line.
Get set.
I make sure,
My hips are high enough,
Above the ground.
Knees are bent,
Elbows bent,
Body still,
And mind set.
Focus, focus, focus,
I repeat.
I’m ready
Bang.
I run,
I breathe,
And I run,
And I breathe.
I finish,
I stop,
Breathing heavily.
Then, I’m ready,
To run again.
