Suspension
My heavy lids fall shut
In the light of the moon;
And there she stands,
Beauty full bloom
An arresting apparation
Emblazoned in my mind;
Oh, if only I could stay here
Suspended in time
In the land of my dreams,
How could I demean
The power of love,
Descent like a dove?
And then I awake
To my lonesome reality
By the light of dawn's break---
My love, how could it be?
