Being 13 Sucks
I wonder if it's true
What adults always say
That once you grow up
You won't feel this way
You'll be comfortable about your body
You won't be flustered around boys
You won't get shy talking to people in a store
You won't care what people think of you
You'll like talking to old family
You won't mind not having friends
And sometimes I can't wait
To grow up so I can feel that way
But I'm also kind of scared
That it won't be like that for me
That I'll still hate the way I look
That I'll still get flustered talking to boys
That I still refuse to talk to people in a store
Or care what people think of me,
That I still won't talk to elderly family
And I'll miss having friends
But hopefully someday
It'll all start to change
Cause I don't want to waste getting older
If everything stays the same
