Losing A Friend
I never wanted to fight
You were my best friend
You betrayed me though
That's what you did
Copying everything I did
It just got old
I had nothing that was mine
Nothing I could call my own
We even looked the same
Though that's not your fault
Teachers getting us mixed up
And correcting them when they did
Over the years you changed
You stopped doing things like me
I finally had my own friends
One that you stayed away from
We grew apart slowly
Day after day
Until finally we hardly talked at all
Which is just fine with me
But before you leave forever
Listen to me
Thank you for finally letting me be my own person
But with the cost of losing a friend in the end
