The Familiar
I don’t know where I am or why I’m here
The things around me don’t make any sense
My eyesight is too hazy to see clear
Yet everything I see is so intense
Then all at once the settings start change
And fragments of my past begin to show
But still to me it does not seem too strange
That everything is from so long ago
As I stand by and watch the scene unfold
I can’t help thinking I’ve been here before
The common scenery begins to mold
But now it isn’t common anymore
And just when it gets all the more extreme
A loud alarm wakes me up from my dream
