One Last Whisper
as I looked down at the spot in the ground
below me, I feel my heart breaking
remembering that last day
sends a gut wrenching sob through me
all the good times gone, all the love lost
I remember when I first saw you
the way your eyes took me under a spell
the way your smile, the little dimple
how you said my name with with a whisper
all of that lost forever, gone from everything
that day I remember like it was yesterday
the lights shining, the glass breaking, the shouts
I awoke in the hospital. banged up and bruised
I asked for you. but they said you was gone
"he didn't make it, honey" they said to me
I was in complete shock, silent. staring off
my heart was broken. I was crying non stop
for days I didn't eat, didn't sleep, didn't talk
just sat and thought about that last day
it was all gone, never coming back
I look down at your grave today
cry the tears for you. and think about what
would be if you was still here, I feel a soft breeze
I know it's you telling me you love me
so I look down and smile, your forever in my heart
