A Celebration
It’s time for a celebration
So gather round with cheers
Because what we’re lauding today
Well, it’s all about the tears
Not a birthday party
Or your bouncing baby boy
Something new and different
A new trend that we’ll deploy
Sadness is the new thing
We see it everyday
So why not recognize
Gloomy in an unheard way
Freedom found at last
An escape from manipulation
There’s a horrible trend
That’s sweeping our dear nation
Our young women are all trapped
But not behind bars or doors
Men your girlfriend is not your toy
And if she were, she’s not just yours
Share her with the world
Let her see the light of day
Her choices, well, you guard them
Threats will always make her stay
So why is it when a girl
Finally becomes free
That we all cry out
“Woe her. It’s such dear pity.”
Come on people, can’t you see
The accomplished deed at last
A determined step forward
Outweighs all the steps that passed
So blow up some balloons
And let’s hear a great big yell
Heck, even bake a cake
And give that guy a big farewell
Because these days we all need
A celebration that’s worthwhile
Even if all were celebrating
Is the return of one lost smile
