Who Are You Today?
One day you’re this girl
The next day, another time and place
It chills me deep down inside
That you have such a disposable face
One day you’re a cheerleading girl
And the total drama queen
Gossiping, makeup, boys
Center of the scene
The next day, you’re humble
Keep all feelings inside
Head down, shameful look
By all the rules you abide
Day after that, another face
Are you still my best friend?
Deceiver, secret-spiller
Twisting rumors till the end
Another day comes about
And you’re all Goth and dark
Wearing black, no shred of color
Not even the tiniest spark
The day after that, you’re nerdy
Glasses and suspenders ready to go
Books galore in your backpack
Popularity—a big fat NO
These many faces you wear
Like clothes you always change
One day sweet, the next day sour
Everything is within your range
Now are you bluffing, these just a mask?
I want to keep out of your way
You can’t let the real you through
So tell me, who are you today?
