You're Mad
You’re mad because I carried on when you gave up
You disliked that I was being congratulated while you sat in the corner, face smothered in tears of jealousy
You were mad when I portentously walked through the hall and everybody looked, except for you of course
You were steaming mad when my 15 minutes of fame turned into a week of superfluous oohs and aahs
You sat in that corner reticent with everything around you for a time longer than I was even mildly famous.
You were determined when another opportunity came along, but fell right back in that corner when you found out it wasn’t for you.
You sat there crying. Crying alone.
You sat there wondering whether you wanted someone’s help or didn’t.
You decided you didn’t when it was really what you needed most.
You were tired in class sitting through endless childhood memoirs.
You were sick of other people’s lives.
You took it out on me.
