Promises

You promised me too much.
You promised to you wouldn't leave me.
You promised to always love me.
You promised we would run away together,
But today you made the decision
That another promise was more important than yours to me.
Now I am alone.
You are with another soul,
And we are apart,
And those promises become sad memories,
And those memories prove to be lies.
