God Knows
Tempers boiled over,
transforming into tears.
Please just hold me.
It's all I've ever wanted.
The floor pulls down,
gravity is stronger tonight.
I try to meet your eyes,
but I only see pain.
Why can't I fix you?
God knows I've tried.
God knows I've tried.
Don't try to talk to me.
I can't think clearly.
He's clouded it too much.
Clouded it with lies, hate, dissappointment.
He hurt you,
you hurt me.
Music plays.
Empty notes.
Empty souls.
You're going to leave me aren't you?
Leave me with this?
Does that sound fair?
Of course it does.
You were never mine.
You have every right,
but I wish you'd forget about rights.
Black tears stain my face.
Don't leave me here.
Alone with myself.
Alone with God.
"I'll miss you."
But not enough,
because you won't stay.
"I love you."
"I love you."
I'll let you go,
but not really.
You never let me go.
My body shakes.
Even your arms can't stop it.
Your eyes make it worse.
I scream inside.
I bury my face.
Your shirt is wet.
"I'm sorry."
Not really.
I loved you.
God knows I loved you.
Gd knows I loved you.
