Haven of Strength
Notoriously known to be the fortress or home to the friends and family that depends upon me,
standing alone just a pillar of strength in the sea of unknowing souls, teeming with loss and need.
Need guidance, they need love, they need reliance and a consistent one. A person like me,
to be there for them when it feels like the end, and they’re alone as to them it may seem.
For myself strength is but triumph, my strength is what keeps me afloat.
I feel it brings with it no feelings, no emotion, no attachment, it takes all my doubt,
and leaves me just hope.
I’m dependent upon just one thing, and that is for the ones that I love, to depend upon me.
I need to be needed, and I love to be loved for the strength that carries me, and holds me above.
I’m given to give, the gift of this strength. To share strength,
and spare yet just enough for myself to stay strong. I’m to advise the uncertain, to lift the fallen,
to defend against opposition of young, and unwise. I know weakness isn’t an option, it slows me to a stop and, will most certainly lead to strength's demise.
Sought for protection, inquired for advice, a different view offered, and known for insight.
I'm here to come back to, not for, I'm here to ground the dreamers, yet still help open new doors.
I'd like to think helpful, is a characteristic of me. But you'll never know it, because to find
something and see, you must take time first to seek.
