The Smile
“Nothing really matters”
“1,2,3,4”
“Nothing really matters”
“1,2,3,4”
Her monotonous voice
went on and on,
Telling me that story
without beginning or end.
Outside,
the sun, the fun.
“1,2,3,4”
Here, nothing else.
I took time.
Time to hear, look and smell.
“Nothing really matters”
We shall both wait.
I wait to leave,
She waits to say
“1,2,3,4”
Until the end.
My senses are loaded with boredom.
I am going to try something else.
“Nothing really matters”,
She says.
I take her hand,
Caress.
“1,2,3,4”
This time
She had a smile on her face.
