Through the Glass
please forgive me
this inconsequential line
though you know as i know
there will be no ways altered
the paths are set in glass
i step not lightly to a beat
long forgotten by your lives
and it cracked it faultered
fell beneath my feet
the crash still resounding in
my ears, making me scream
there's no rest now for the echo
the wounds i suffered
no where near yours
when we fell through the glass
but i'd rather be down there
nestled in the shards with you
than wandering air hopelessly
feeling not a damn thing
longing for a path again
to settle restless feet
for all my dreams descended
the day we fell through
and i'm lost in all this space
i'd rather be impaled gazing
at your face beside mine
weeping screaming dying
than lost up here
each way i turn more breaks
no paths shall take your place
since we fell through the glass
i'm a homeless wanderer
here in this hopless sky
wishing to cut my wings
and fall to nothing beside you
