Back To The Basics
and
it's like your eyes
could see through
the sun beyond
the sky, beyond the
edge of the edge
the white space
where everything
is nothing
purity simplicity
my eyes are
there
beyond this gray
dull world
each color its
own shade tone
existence
and is it
safe
to say that some
one
pulled me out of
the ashes i created
when i burned
to the ground so
very long ago
an effigy of mess
here i lay
now
the truth of what
used to be
me
scattered the little
jagged halves
and became
a whole being again
and i see beyond
the sun
and it'll take me
everywhere
i've never been
and everywhere
i should have stayed
a smiling
stone oh so resistant
to the pounding
waves
i see past them
i am the
shorebreak
the sand sweeping
away
always to return as
one creature
this has made
me stone
living breathing
but unbreakable
staring at the sky
right into the brilliant
sun
and seeing beyond
