Greed
Greed is all the hidden lies and betrayals,
a fortune of money, worth nothing, waiting to be stolen.
It’s the monster growing, festering inside all of us,
the freedom that has been locked up and guarded behind a wall, behind a border.
It’s a little boy crying in his sleep, having a nightmare about someone robbing his house.
It’s the money, jewels, possessions, stolen never to come back.
Greed is not the priceless smiles, laughter, and memories.
It is the man sitting on top of the world, ridiculing all at the bottom,
the careless, heartless fools who take what’s not theirs,
the mindless robots who see value in money and jewels.
It’s those who take and give nothing back.
It’s cold and evil and dark.
Greed.
