Free Me
I had a dream about you last night
About what, I can’t recall
But, still, it was about you
If that counts for anything at all
I don’t want to love you
I want you to love me
I don’t want to feel this way
I need you
I know you want me to care
You need me to live for you
You’re just that insecure
You desire your power over me
You want to think that you’re better than me
When really, you’re so much worse
By holding this control on my life
You pretend you’re actually worth something
You hate me
I know you do
But you need me
Just as much as I need you
You need me to hurt
To cry, to scream
It makes you feel strong
Seeing me so weak
You thrive watching me
As the tears stream down my face
You know that you cause my pain
And you love it
I’ve tried so many times to stop this all
Yet you ruin my every attempt
A smile, a hug, even a glance
Will put me right back in your trance
I need to escape
I hate you
I can’t help myself
I love you
Just free me
