The Broken Half.
The teardrops fell off my face
like clear satin,
but I could never weep enough to cover myself.
Then the houses we build
turned out to be motels,
filled with strangers and smiles that were meant for other people,
and the diamonds hidden in the
creases of your palms were
just broken glass to me.
The years went by,
and the road grew longer,
the sun never rose for only me.
And that was when I realized that I lost you the first time that I found myself.
