Eyes of Mine
From inside out,
vibrancy, life, and breath are seen.
There lie the shadows of living,
the depth of every pigment-
anguish and lament-
shades of struggle, deception, and greed.
Perspective from the inner soul pour
to affect vision for
eyes are hungry to earn, to learn,
they are yearning for more.
For the sight of life
Can be painfully deceiving
Or pleasantly surprising,
sometimes disguised, waiting to be discovered.
It follows the seeds of passion
to lead, fail, innovate
to be inspiring.
By the hour of night,
pairs of eyes look at me
wearily, drowsily,
yet still hungry
from peering into every light
only the fortunate of mankind see.
