I PLAN ON WOUNDING YOU MY CHURCH
God I'm so sorry!
Sorry for how broken I've let myself be.
God I tried to shine.
But some times I tarnish my reflectivity.
Now I'm going to try follow you honestly, completely.
So my dear friends
If the wounds of a friend are better then
The kisses of the enemy...I plan on wounding you!
My God told me to be the salt of the earth.
Salt irritates. So I plan of irritating you!
O, Preachers, Pastors, Teachers
"It seems a little dead in here."
" Can I get an amen?!"
" You must not be hearing me!"
These words haunt me!
In how giving a word from God has turned to be...Vanity.
Vanity of vanities, all is vanity!
It just seems to me
That if you are judging what you say
God told you to say by how many Amen's
Or pats on the back you get.
You'd be surprised how few steps
From the pulpit it takes to be a prostitute.
Your heart tripped and fell
Down that spiral Stair of good intention.
But I stand screaming,
Screaming at the fact that my Church
So intentionally blends into the foliage.
I don't know
It just seems to me
That if you want to follow This Jesus
Every now and again you need to flip tables and call out vipers!
You need to stop pointing fingers at the so called " sinners"
My Jesus was sicked by the church not by sinners.
Every now and again you need to flip tables and call out vipers!

As the comedian(s) say, "Everyday people are straying away from the church and going back to God."
Not as funny as I thought it was? Oh well, I giggled.
P.S. This is in Slam poetry form so it is meant to me spoken.
